Description

A Country Prints production sample retained as a print record. A four-color silkscreen printed placemat set on off-white linen depicting elements of an early American kitchen, featuring the materials and tools needed to make bread. Several types of finished bread are illustrated. Wert’s trailing vines finish the composition. This set appears in the c.1955 brochure “Country Prints Mat Sets and Luncheon Squares by Robert Darr Wert”, see images. A matching table runner and tile were also produced; see images. Edges are straight stitched and fringed.
