Description

A three-color silkscreen underglaze print on a white tile blank depicting a farmer with a scythe harvesting wheat at night. The night scene is made apparent by the darker palette and the appearance of a moon in the upper right corner of the composition. Imagery of the farmer, barns and moon are taken from a coordinating wall hanging inspired by the 1860 Farmers’ Almanac by Uriah Hunt & Son of Philadelphia; see images.
