Name/Title
Kitchen, Bottle Cover: Motif Gourmet, Good DayDescription
A four-color silkscreen print on bleached linen depicting a rooster weathervane, a smiling sun, a compass rose, and a partial weather forecast, “High for the Day”. The weather forecast illustrates the sense of humor Wert inserts into much of his work. “High” used to be a description for being drunk.
The cover is designed to fit over a standard size wine bottle, and is part of a coordinated set of soft goods (see photo below) including wall hangings, oven mitts, toaster covers, and coffee can covers. These items were offered individually and in matched gifts sets.
The bottle cover is hemmed and seamed in a red-orange bias tape chosen to match the same color ink in the print.Made/Created
