Name/Title
Tile: Happy Heart 530, with beige underlayDescription
A four-color silkscreen overglaze print on a glazed white tile blank depicting a Pennsylvania “Dutch” inspired composition of angels, birds, flowers and hearts supporting the phrase, “may you have a happy heart”. This design varies from the previous version and includes a mottled beige underlay of color, likely applied to make the background appear to be more like the unbleached linen of the matching kitchen towel and accessories. This version was likely produced in the mid-1960’s.
This design appears in the brochures “Country Prints by Robert Darr Wert and Neighbors”, c.1963 and c.1966, see images.Made/Created
