Name/Title
Towel, Wallhanging: Peace Plenty Independence (TK)Description
A Country Prints production sample retained as a print record.
A four-screen, five-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting symbols of farm life, abundance and patriotism. The text PEACE, PLENTY and INDEPENDENCE reinforces the visual symbolism. The broken sword in proximity to the plow is a reference to the Bible passage Isaiah 2:4, “and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks…”. Additionally, the sword broken over the neck of the guitar references the hopeful triumph of the arts and peace over war.Made/Created
