Description

A six-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting a Pennsylvania “Dutch” barnyard scene dominated by a large barn complex including two silos, a corn crib and a hen house. The red stone-ender barn is accented with three large hex signs. A rooster, hen, goat and pig roam freely. At right, a yoked oxen pulls against tie lines connected to something out of the frame. At left, a farmer in work clothes holds a pail and pitchfork as he stands amidst rows of newly planted crops. Beyond is a stone farmhouse. This print appears in the c.1955 brochure “Country Prints in Frames”, and is a pair with Village 612-1. It is also listed on a c.1955 price list.
