Placemat, Napkin: Good Morning (TK)Description
Country Prints production samples retained as a print record.
A square breakfast napkin with a one-color silkscreen print on off-white homespun linen with “good morning” in script repeated as a border. Two hearts separate each repetition.
This napkin was likely paired with an unidentified matching placemat, and may have been mentioned in a Dec. 27, 1949 article in The New York Times, “…and a breakfast set bears a perky rooster in one corner and good-morning messages written in a panel on the other side. It is done in red or green on wheat-colored crash.”
This is amongst Wert’s earliest designs upon founding Country Prints in 1947.Made/Created
