Description

A three-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting two polka-dot American eagles bearing flowers in their talons and beaks, with urns of flowers above, and a border of swags on three edges. The napkin has flowers cradled in a single swag. The motifs in this set are inspired by appliqué quilt designs. This design is listed on the January 1960 Country Prints price list in three colorways (brown, red, or blue), and appears in the c.1960 brochures “Mat Sets by Robert Darr Wert/Country Prints”, with fringed edges, and “Country Prints by Robert Darr Wert and Neighbors”, c.1963, with serged and bound edges. Edges are serged and bound.
