Description

A placemat and napkin set with a three-color silkscreen print on off-white linen. The placemat illustration depicts seven buttermolds, each with a different American eagle carving. The matching napkin depicts a butter churn, wooden bowl and butter paddle. This placemat set is listed on the Spring 1958 and January 1960 Country Prints price lists in four colorways (red, brown, green, or blue). It also appears in the c.1960 brochure “Mat Sets by Robert Darr Wert/Country Prints”, p.2, and “Country Prints by Robert Darr Wert and Neighbors”, c.1963. See brochure images below. Edges are serged and bound.
