Print: Faith 612-10, 612-10/11, 612-3Description
A three-color silkscreen print on dyed light yellow linen depicting a paraphrasing of the Bible passage Hebrews 11:1 amidst a composition of trailing vines, topiary, birds, musical instruments, hearts and fruit.
These prints likely originated as Wert’s 1954 Country Prints Christmas Greeting to his retailers, suppliers and sales force; see images. With the removal of Christmas references, this pair remains in the product line into the 1960’s.
The item number for this pair changes over the years. In the c.1955 brochure “Country Prints in Frames” it is listed as 612-10. On a 1958 Country Prints packing slip it is listed as 612-10/11, and in the c.1960 brochure “Country Prints in Frames Designed by Robert Darr Wert” it is listed as 612-3. It is also listed on the january 1960 Country Prints price list as Faith is the Substance 612-3, and was offered in a choice of antique birch or flat black frames.Made/Created
