Description

A potholder with a three-screen/four-color silkscreen print on natural linen depicting the herb rosemary, its name in english and latin, name origin, and its symbolism. The rosemary plant grows from a footed cast iron pot. The potholder is edged in a green bias tape to match the print. First introduced in 1965, it was part of a matching suite of kitchen accessories that included an apron, towel/wallhanging, and tile. This potholder appears in the brochure “Fall and Christmas 1965, Robert Darr Wert/Country Prints”. First produced with a linen back, this example has a heat resistant back introduced c.1966.
