A five-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting more than thirty five tools and furnishings necessary to a well equipped early American kitchen. Items illustrated include metalware, woodware, copperware, painted tin, glass and painted wood. All are recurrent themes in Wert’s work and originate from his personal collection of early American artifacts.
This print is a recolored version of a c.1953 towel/wallhanging/runner titled Frontier Cooking 222. It is listed in the January 1960 Country Prints price list in a choice of antique Birch or flat black frames, and appears in the c.1960 brochure “Country Prints in Frames Designed by Robert Darr Wert”, p.3; see images.Made/Created
