Name/Title
Napkin, Cocktail: Christmas, Twelve Days 386Description
A set of twelve six-color silkscreen prints on natural linen depicting scenes from the traditional Christmas carol, “The Twelve Days of Christmas”.
The order of characters in this cocktail napkin set is consistent with a published version of the song popular during Wert’s childhood (Austin, 1909, see web link). By contrast, two of his Twelve Days wall hanging designs conform to a version of the song published and recorded in the mid-twentieth century.
Likely introduced in the mid-1950’s, this set is listed in the Christmas 1960 Country Prints price list. The list states, “Packed with one folder listing entire song and music, and a special handprint mailing envelope.”
Edges are straight stitched and fringed.Made/Created
