Name/Title
Napkin, Cocktail: Christmas, Twelve Days 386Description
A set of twelve six-color silkscreen prints on natural linen depicting scenes from the traditional Christmas carol, “The Twelve Days of Christmas”.
The order of characters in this cocktail napkin set is consistent with a published version of the song popular during Wert’s childhood (Austin, 1909, see web link). By contrast, two of his Twelve Days wall hanging designs conform to a version of the song published and recorded in the mid-twentieth century.
Likely introduced in the late 1950’s, this set is listed in the Christmas 1960 Country Prints price list. The list states, “Packed with one folder listing entire song and music, and a special handprint mailing envelope.”
Edges are straight stitched and fringed.Made/Created
