Name/Title

Print: Bottles 912-3/4 Pair, aka Bottles 912-3

Description

A pair of six or seven-color silkscreen prints on off-white linen depicting numerous early American glass vessels arranged on various wooden home furnishings. The major forms of glass production are represented: mouth blown, mold blown, painted/enameled, and cut glass. Wert used his own collections as inspiration for his compositions. Most of these bottles can be seen in other compositions featuring glass. This pair of prints is listed in the Spring 1958 Country Prints price list as Bottles 912-3/4 Pair. It is listed in the January 1960 Country Prints Price list in a choice of antique birch of flat black frames, and appears in the c.1960 brochure “Country Prints in Frames Designed by Robert Darr Wert” as Bottles 912-3 Pair; see images.
