Print: Country Life 57-3, Chopping Wood (TK)Description
This print is from the Country Life 57-3 series Country Prints produced as framed prints and Country Print Notes notecards. The framed prints were produced with and without mats, like the examples seen here.
Print is a six-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting a farmer splitting logs in a barnyard.
This early framed print varies from other known Country Prints framed pieces in that the frame is essentially a box with the print and mat face-glued to the box bottom. The corners of the frame are box joined rather than mitered, and the back panel is a piece of wood that is integral to the frame, rather than inset cardboard found on later frames. An early Country Prints story card printed in black and brown on off-white cardstock is affixed to the back.Made/Created
