Runner: Thanksgiving (TK)Description
NOTE: TEMP PHOTO.
A five-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting the traditional view of the first Thanksgiving feast between Native Americans and the English Pilgrims at Plimoth Plantation. At left, a ship awaits offshore (assumed to be the Mayflower, though the ship had returned to England). At right, a thatch-roofed house sits within a fenced yard. Between, people are seated at a wood plank table, a woman places a lobster in a cast iron kettle while a Native American man tends the fire, children play with pumpkins, and a Native American man cleans fish.
Cleverly, this print was also produced as an apron. In addition, Wert designed a commissioned towel/wallhanging for the Plimoth Plantation historic site, now known as Plimoth-Patuxet Museums; see images and web link.Made/Created
