Name/Title
Placemat, Napkin: Polka Dot (TK), Red-OrangeDescription
A Country Prints production samples retained as a print record.
A one-color silkscreen print on a red-orange linen ground, depicting repeated rows of hand-drawn ovals creating a Polka-dot pattern. This design was produced on four colors of dyed linen; see images and separate entries.
These placemats are a matched set with a tablecloth titled “Some Buttermolds” as well as the placemat sets Calico Kitchen 130 and Calico Patch 131; see images. The ovals on the placemats coordinate with scattered ovals on the tablecloth. The placemats were intended to be used as napkins when the tablecloth was in use, or as placemats when not using the tablecloth.
Edges are straight stitched and fringed.Made/Created
