A four-color illustrated clock by General Electric (GE) Clocks Division. The clock face is a ceramic plate. With battery operated works, this was an early example of a cordless clock. Though this has not been authenticated as a Wert design, the illustrations and fonts used bear strong similarities to his work.
This model appears in GE’s “1962-1963 Clocks” catalog and “Wholesale Gift Catalog/Holiday ‘63” along with one authenticated, patented Wert clock and at least one other design that may be by Wert; see images.
GE’s 1963 Holiday Gift Catalog description:
“ 7. GOURMET. Cordless. Charming kitchen or dinette clock, with colorful herb designs on a white ceramic plate. Precision built battery movement. Diameter 8 1/2”.
