A silkscreen printed placemat set on linen with two designs, one for the placemat and one for the napkin. Placemat: a three color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting four bound wheat shocks, essential harvest tools and two birds. Napkin: a one color silkscreen print on dyed pink linen depicting harvest tools and a quote from Poor Richard’s Almanac by Benjamin Franklin, “A harvest of peace is produced from a seed of contentment.” Edges are straight stitched and fringed This placemat set is listed on the Spring 1958 and January 1960 Country Prints price lists in three colorways (pink, blue, or aqua), and appears in the c.1960 brochure “Mat Sets by Robert Darr Wert/Country Prints”, p.1; see images.
