Description

This is a Country Prints production sample retained as a record of the company’s print work. A placemat with a two-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting an overview of a farm, with images of a woman in eighteenth century dress flanked by tall potted plants, roosters, birds, a house, a silo with a weathervane, as well as scrolled lines and other marks in rows reminiscent of calico print fabrics. This design was offered in three colorways: aqua, rust, or chartreuse. This design appears on a c.1951 Country Prints table linens packing slip, and is illustrated in a Country Prints feature in the Springfield Sunday Republican on January 20, 1952. Edges are straight-stitched and fringed. This design appears on a c.1951 Country Prints packing slip.
