Description

A four-screen/five-color silkscreen underglaze print on a white tile blank depicting an early American bottle, a weathervane, and cooking implements composed as a modern collage. This tile was produced in at least two colorways. This c.1956 design is an update to the c.1955 Yankee Doodles T-8; see separate entry. This tile appears in the c.1956 brochure “Country Prints Tiles designed by Robert Darr Wert”. A matching placemat set was also produced; see images.

Screen printing of underglaze colors, clear glaze, firing and finishing by Ceramo Studio, NYC. This example is printed on the thicker tile body used by Country Prints/Ceramo Studio prior to 1962.
