A four-screen/five-color silkscreen overglaze print on a glazed white tile blank depicting dried herbs hanging from a wooden beam, and fresh herbs growing in copper containers supporting the maxim from Poor Richard’s Almanac, “Much virtue in herbs, little in men.”
This tile appears in the brochure “Robert Darr Wert/Country Prints Tiles”, c.1960; see images.
First produced in the late 1950’s, this example is printed on the thinner tile body used by Country Prints/Ceramo Studio from 1962 onward.
