A placemat set with two-color silkscreen prints on off-white linen depicting stylized rooster weathervanes and the greeting, “Good Morning”.
Placemat: Symbols of morning. Left to right: a rooster weather vane with a superimposed calico pattern of fruit and hearts facing left, a wrought iron weather vane with a sunburst tail and a globe finial, a rooster with a superimposed calico pattern facing right, and a smiling sunburst with radiating rays ringed with a scrolled border.
Napkin: The phrase ‘GOOD MORNING’ appears twice, once in each of the lower left and right corners. Single five-pointed stars fill each of the O’s as well as dotting the i’s.
This placemat set is listed on the Spring 1958 and January 1960 Country Prints price lists in four colorways, and appears in the c.1960 brochure “Mat Sets by Robert Darr Wert/Country Prints”, p.2; see images.
A matching tile and two wood serving platters with inset tiles were also produced; see images.
