Description

A four-color silkscreen overglaze print on a white glazed tile blank depicting a graphic interpretation of an appliqué quilt square. A bird on the roof of a house is flanked by blue tulips and bordered in a wavy brown line. This square is taken from a c.1965 towel/wallhanging titled Quilt 200; see images. This unsigned design lacks the rigor, quality and color sensitivity of Wert’s artwork and was likely produced for Country Prints by a freelance artist after his death in January 1966.
