A Country Prints production sample retained as a print record. A Plowshares wallhanging with a five-color silkscreen print on natural linen depicting the word “Gloria” above an angel hovering above three shepherds and their sheep while holding a furling banner emblazoned with the the latin phrase, “in excelsis deo” from the Christian hymn known as the Angelic Hymn; see web link. This wallhanging appears in the brochure “Country Prints by Robert Darr Wert and Neighbors”, c.1966. This is a design developed and signed by an unidentified freelance artist for Country Prints after Wert’s death in January 1966. Plowshares is Country Prints’ line of inspirational prints and notecards, most of which are Christian in content.
