A Plowshares Kitchen Pocket wallhanging with a four color silkscreen print featuring a traditional kitchen blessing, with imagery of a brick bread oven and a large cooking fireplace equipped with a crane.
This wallhanging contains a pocket for a paper cookbook titled, “Kitchen Notes, Purloined Recipes, Dates and Puddings”; see “Branding” entries for complete cookbook. A paper calendar was stapled to the face of the pocket.
Launched in 1964 for the 1965 calendar year, Plowshares is Country Prints’ line of narrow wallhangings, typically 8” x 24”, the majority of which are Christian in theme. Each came with a hand printed envelope for mailing or gift giving.
