Name/Title
Kitchen, Apron: Daily Bread, RedDescription
A three-color silkscreen print on natural linen. Illustrations depict tools and ingredients necessary for making bread, along with multiple examples of the finished product. The foundation of the composition is the first line of the Lord’s Prayer, “Give us this day our daily bread”, a recurrent theme in Wert’s designs, appearing on placemats, table squares, table runners and tablecloths.
Top edge is hemmed to accept the apron tie. The tie is a wide, russet-colored cotton twill tape. Left and right edges are hemmed. Bottom edge is a selvedge.
A matching towel/wallhanging and tile were also available. These items were offered in red or blue colorways, and were sold individually and in gift sets.Made/Created
