Notecard, Christmas: Greeting Hanger, Christmas Hearth 341Description
Two five-color silkscreen prints on off-white linen depicting an early American kitchen fireplace outfitted with cooking tools and decorated with evergreen cuttings, 20th century glass ornaments, and a gingerbread angel.
This notecard is a small wallhanging. Meant to be sent as a holiday greeting, the linen print is glued to a black cardboard strip with a ribbon for hanging, and a small red silkscreened gift tag attached.
Despite its small size, this wallhanging is just as detailed as Wert’s larger prints, and is a variant of a c.1955 Christmas Kitchen (TK) Gift Greeting; see images.
This Greeting Hanger is listed on the Christmas 1960 Country Prints price list. Each included a “5x6 envelope for inexpensive mailing.”Made/Created
