Tile: Peace and Plenty T-19Description
A five-screen/six-color silkscreen underglaze print on a white tile blank depicting symbols of abundance under a furling banner with the text “Peace and Plenty”. Illustration includes: wheat and wildflowers, a breadboard with a loaf of bread, a slipware pitcher, a butter churn, a blown glass bottle, and a guitar.
This tile appears in the c.1955 brochure “Robert Darr Wert/Country Print Tiles”, the c.1956 brochure “Country Prints Tiles designed by Robert Darr Wert”, and the c.1960 brochure “Robert Darr Wert/Country Prints Tiles”. It was also a design option in at least two breadboards with tile inserts; see images.Made/Created
