A placemat with a three-color silkscreen print on natural linen depicting the faces of eight early American carved wood butter molds with designs symbolizing harmony, plenty and national pride. Matching solid color napkin.
This print appears in the c.1955 brochure “Country Prints Mat Sets and Luncheon Squares by Robert Darr Wert”, and the c.1955 Country Prints price list. The price list states, “Revised with new patterns from our growing collection of unusual originals. Barn Red, Bottle Green, or Spice Brown on natural, and Early Blue on white with solid color napkins to match.”
A matching tile, towel/wallhanging and tablecloth were also produced; see images.
