A three-color silkscreen print on natural linen depicting fanciful topiaries. The topiary at left includes large and small birdhouses, two birds with feathered ruffs, and a lower section bearing fruit. The topiary at right has an astrolabe at the base, a sculpted nest with four pears, a sculpted hen roosting above and a smiling sunburst. Matching solid color napkin.
This placemat is described on the Spring 1958 Country Prints price list, “141 Garden Whimsey — Espaliered tree design — Pink & Turquoise on White — Green on Tan.”
