Description

A Country Prints production sample retained as a print record. A placemat with a three-color silkscreen print depicting Wert’s interpretation of Pennsylvania “Dutch” folk art motifs in rectangular fields at left and right, with five rows of calligraphic scrolls between. The napkin bears a one-color print of scrolls to match the placemat. This c.1951 design is an update of a c.1948 placemat set of the same name. This set was produced in four colorways: red earth, ochre, green, and salt glaze. It is listed on a c.1951 Country Prints packing slip.
