Name/Title

Gift Greeting: Early Glass

Description

A four-screen/five-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting twelve early glass vessels on three shelves in a box bay window. An oval sign labeled “EARLY GLASS” hangs from chains above. Trailing vines issue from three bottles, further animating the composition. This image was inspired by Wert’s personal collection of early glass bottles as well as the window of the former milk house adjacent to his barn studio in Gill, Massachusetts. See image below. This print appears in the c.1955 brochure “Robert Darr Wert/Country Print Gift Greetings”; see images. This print was also available as a framed print, and appears in the undated c.1955 brochure “Country Prints in Frames”; see images.
