A two-color silkscreen underglaze print on a white tile blank depicting a house flanked by a small tree on the left and a larger manicured tree on the right. A pair of birds flies in opposite directions above the house. It was produced in two colorways, blue and brown; see separate entries.
First produced c.1956 and soon discontinued, this example bears the full cork backing Country Prints/Ceramo Studio began using c.1962, indicating it was reintroduced in the early 1960’s.
This tile appears in the c.1956 brochure “Country Prints Tiles designed by Robert Darr Wert”; see images.
This tile design is one of twelve designs found on a Country Prints towel/wallhanging/runner titled Quilts 203 (see below), which is a graphic reinterpretation of a Pennsylvania “Dutch” appliqué quilt.Made/Created
