Tile: Village T-6Description
A five-screen/six-color silkscreen print on a white tile blank depicting a village of early American buildings, including a house with a front walk, a carriage house, a one room schoolhouse, a church with a rooster weathervane, and taller buildings that could be apartments, businesses or government offices.
This tile appears in the c.1955 brochure, “Robert Darr Wert/Country Print Tiles”, and the c.1956 brochure “Country Prints Tiles designed by Robert Darr Wert”. It was included in a 1955 article about Robert Darr Wert in the art journal Design.
An example of this tile is in the permanent collection of the Everson Museum, Syracuse, NY, and was included in the exhibition “The Art of the Tile”.
