Gift Greeting, Christmas: Shepherds (TK)

Description

A five-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting three shepherds on the night of Jesus’ birth. Two of the shepherds point to the Christmas star as the third, kneeling, gazes upward. The body of the star is a Christian cross, with three radiating lines between each arm (possibly symbolic of the trinity, or a total of twelve for the apostles). The clothing is colorful and seems rich for “poor shepherds”, but the effect is celebratory. Two sheep, one standing, and one lying down, are in the foreground, representative of the lamb of God. This is a Gift Greeting, Country Prints’ line of unmounted prints sold in folded cardstock note folders with envelopes for mailing or gift giving.
