Name/Title
Towel, Wallhanging: Bird 207Description
A Country Prints production sample retained as a print record.
A two-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting eight birds within as many squares. The squares are bordered in scrolled lines. The birds are reminiscent of Pennsylvania “Dutch” folk art, and may be inspired by quilt appliqué work. The composition is bordered by a wavy rickrack style line.
This print was marketed for use as a kitchen towel, wallhanging, or table runner, and is listed on a c.1949 Country Prints packing slip.
A matching potholder was also produced; see images.Made/Created
