A six-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting the baby Jesus, Mary (both with halos), the three kings, a shepherd, and three farm animals (the lamb of God, the oxen who gave his manger for Jesus’ bed, and the donkey that Mary rode into Bethlehem). An angel hovers above the scene. Rendered as an early American village, the town of Bethlehem surrounds the figures. Above and below is the verse Luke 2:11 fro teh King James Bible, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior which is Christ the Lord”.
This is a Gift Greeting, Country Prints’ line of unmounted prints available in folded cardstock note folders with envelopes for mailing or gift giving. This design was amongst the first eight Gift Greetings produced by Country Prints as described in a c.1955 price list, “330 Gift Greetings — for our first venture into the exciting greeting card field we have 8 of our very own colorful greetings in linen…”Made/Created
