Tile: Poor Richard’s, No Law (TK)Description
A four-color silkscreen overglaze print on a glazed white tile blank depicting lady justice in a star covered dress holding a scale in one hand and a baker’s peel in the other, supporting the maxim from Poor Richard’s Almanac, “When there is no law, there is no bread.”
Though first produced in the late 1950’s, this example is printed on the thinner tile body used by Country Prints/Ceramo Studio from 1962 onward. The colors used also vary from late 1950’s examples; see separate entry.
This is one of a series of at least fourteen tiles featuring maxims from Poor Richard’s Almanac.Made/Created
