Wallhanging: Patience Tree 251Description
A Country Prints production sample retained as a print record.
A four-color silkscreen print on natural linen depicting a stylized fruiting tree topped with a birdhouse and two birds. A country couple relaxes below the tree. At the base of the composition is a maxim from Poor Richard’s Almanac, “Patience is a tree whose root is bitter, but the fruit is very sweet.”
This wallhanging is listed in the January 1960 Country Prints price list (with a stick/string, and plastic gift box), and appears in the brochure “Mat Sets by Robert Darr Wert/Country Prints”, c.1960. It is a pair with Cherry Tree 250; see images. It was also produced as a framed print.Made/Created
