A four-color silkscreen print on linen burlap depicting a steam powered train engine and tender for the Virginia & Truckee Railroad (V&T RR). The composition is finished with a printed border.
The V&T RR still operates in Nevada as a tourist attraction, running steam and electric powered locomotives for seasonal and special interest tours. The vibrant red and black colors Wert used in this print are historic colors used by the V&T; see web link.
This Wall Board is listed in the January 1960 Country Prints price list, and appears in the brochure “Country Prints in Frames designed by Robert Darr Wert”, c.1960. It was also produced as a framed print, Iron Horse 618-3; see images.Made/Created
