Name/Title
Runner: Farm 212Description
A four-screen/five-color silkscreen print on natural linen depicting a group of farm structures topped with weathervanes. The central barn is modeled on Pennsylvania “Dutch” stone-ender barns, and the red silo at right is modeled on the silo of Wert’s barn workshop in Gill, Massachusetts. Fruiting trees are sculpted into rough topiaries, and a sun, moon and stars convey the passage of time.
This runner is listed in the January 1960 Country Prints price list in one colorway (mustard, red, green and black), and appears in the c.1960 brochure “Mat Sets by Robert Darr Wert/Country Prints”, p.4. It is a pair with the Village 213 table runner; see images.
This was also produced as a framed print; see images.Made/Created
