Name/Title

Print: Antique Kitchen 516 (TK)

Description

A five or six-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting items found in early American kitchens: painted tin, woodenware, cast and wrought iron trivets and tools, copperware and butter churns. Both compositions are unified with Wert’s trailing vines. The official name of this pair of prints has not been documented. Textile prints are dry mounted to chipboard, backed with corrugated cardboard printed with the Country Prints story, and secured to natural wood Country Prints frames with staples. Cleated hanging hardware is affixed at top back of frames. The fourth photo below shows how Wert changed the colors of his prints over time to keep them fresh and up to date with current color trends.
