A four-screen/five-color silkscreen overglaze print on a glazed white tile blank depicting the herb burnet with its latin name, flavor description and suggestions for use.
The text reads, “BURNET, sanguisorba minor, for a merry heart, with its cucumber flavor is delightful in salads and for omelettes, cream cheese, in tea and in vinegar”.
This tile appears in the brochure “Robert Darr Wert/Country Print Tiles”, c.1960; see images.
The c.1959 design is printed on the thinner tile body used by Country Prints/Ceramo Studio c.1962 onward. However, it retains the label hanger and cork pads used before the companies switched to a full cork back with a rubber stamped logo.
