Tile: Poor Richard’s, Fat Kitchen (TK) T-41Description
A five-color silkscreen underglaze print on a white tile blank featuring a maxim from Poor Richard’s Almanac, “A FAT KITCHEN, A LEAN WILL”. The tile is illustrated with harvest foods: ham, bacon and herbs hang from an overhead beam; a loaf of bread, a wheel of cheese, apples and a jug of cider rest on the table; a basket of cabbages, a bucket of nuts, and a butter churn sit on the floor.
This tile appears in the brochure “Robert Darr Wert/Country Prints Tiles”, c.1960; see images.
