Description

Two Country Prints production samples retained as a print record. Custom fabric yardage commissioned for the home of a local mill owner. The five-color design on off-white linen depicts five types of covered bridges and the timber framing for two others (King post and Burr truss frames) illustrated in elevation views. The composition also features common carpentry tools, a sign with a list of tolls, and another warning to “Walk Your Horses”. People in horse-drawn carts and carriages are also illustrated. The repeat for this yardage is loosely based on Wert’s Walk Your Horses U219 towel/wallhanging produced in the 1960’s, or vice versa.
