A Plowshares wallhanging developed by a freelance artist and produced by Country Prints after Wert’s death in 1966. Though designed to blend with Wert’s catalog of work, a signet, A within D, marks this as the work of an unidentified artist.
Within the composition, a Bible verse, Proverbs 14, is illustrated by a pair of yoked oxen stand astride a tall cornstalk. A smiling sun radiates from the sky while a dove flies above one ox.
Plowshares is Country Prints’ line of narrow wall hangings, typically 8” x 24”, the majority of which are Christian in theme.
Top edge is hemmed to accept a dowel for hanging, remaining edges are serged and bound with an overlock stitch.Made/Created
