Print: Jugs 916-2Description
A four-color silkscreen print on off-white linen depicting six forms of crockery and a ceramic rooster figurine, delineated as outlines and silhouettes in a manner reminiscent of early American slipware designs. The composition is finished with a brown printed border.
This print is a larger reworking of a c.1955 print titled Jugs 715-1. The earlier unbordered version appears in the c.1955 brochure “Country Prints in Frames”; see images and separate entry.
This print is listed in the January 1960 Country Prints price list in a choice of antique birch or flat black frames, and appears in the c.1960 brochure “Country Prints in Frames by Robert Darr Wert”. It was available as a single, pair or triple with “Jugs 916-2” and “Eagle 916-3”; see images.Made/Created
