Description

A Matted Greeting with a four-color silkscreen print on red linen depicting a plan view of a garden with a formal brick path. Garden beds occupy the center and the four corners. At the base of the composition is a verse from a folk song with many names, “Be sure to keep your garden clean - let no one take your thyme.” The print is framed in a light brown cardstock mat and backed with single-ply cardboard. This Matted Greeting appears in the Spring 1958 Country Prints price list as part of a new product line. Seventeen 7” x 9” matted prints were initially produced and included envelopes for mailing or gift giving. They were also available framed in black or natural frames. This example is a sales sample used at trade shows and/or Country Prints’ in-house retail shop.
