Tile: Hearth T-4Description
A four-color silkscreen underglaze print on a white tile blank depicting items of daily use arranged around a well equipped early American hearth. Items of woodware, tinware, cast iron, wrought iron, ceramics, and enamelware are illustrated. A rifle and powder horn are mounted on the mantle.
This tile appears in the c.1955 brochure “Robert Darr Wert/Country Print Tiles”, the c.1956 brochure “Country Prints Tiles designed by Robert Darr Wert”, the c.1960 brochure “Robert Darr Wert/Country Prints Tiles”, and is included in an ad for Elliots Furniture of Billings, Montana, in 1957; see images.
